Horticultural production:
Pleione bulbocodioides is cultivated as an ornamental greenhouse and indoor potted plant for its showy flowers, and as a display plant in orchid collections and botanical gardens. Plants are typically propagated by division of mature pseudobulbs and by tissue culture. Nursery stock is distributed through horticultural channels and sold by orchid specialty nurseries.

Commercial and craft applications:
