- Rotary‑cut and sliced veneer for high‑end furniture and automotive interiors (CITES, 2022).
- Essential oil obtained by steam distillation of heartwood, used in fragrance and flavor industries (Silva et al., 2005).

Industrial and craft applications:
- The dense, aromatic wood is employed in high‑end furniture, cabinetry, flooring and decorative veneers (FAO, 2020).
- It serves as tonewood for the backs and sides of classical and acoustic guitars (FAO, 2020).
- Essential oil is used as a base note and natural fixative in perfumery, soaps, lotions and other cosmetics (Silva et al., 2005).

Wood and fiber:
- The tree yields heavy, straight‑grained timber with basic density ≈0.84 g cm⁻³, equilibrium moisture ≈10 % and Janka hardness ≈1,200–1,350 lbf, enabling use as structural lumber, flooring and engineered wood products (FAO, 2020).
- High‑quality veneers are produced from the wood’s fine grain (FAO, 2020).

Fragrance and cosmetics:
- Steam distillation of heartwood yields an essential oil dominated by sesquiterpenes (β‑caryophyllene ≈30 %, α‑humulene ≈12 %, longifolene ≈8 %) (Silva et al., 2005).
- The oil is used as a fragrance ingredient and fixative in soaps, lotions, creams and perfume blends, providing a warm woody scent (Silva et al., 2005).
