Combretum indicum, also known as the Rangoon creeper, is a tropical vine native to Asia. It can grow up to 8 meters and has elliptical leaves and fragrant tubular flowers that change color from white to pink to red. It is found in thickets and secondary forests in countries such as the Philippines, India, and Malaysia, but has also been cultivated in other tropical areas. The flowers change color to attract different pollinators, and the plant has been used for medicinal purposes due to its toxic seeds. The Rangoon creeper was first documented in 1861 by Dr. John Ivor Murray, who noted its use in Chinese medicine for treating worms.
