Wood and fiber:
The stems and small branches of Acacia paradoxa are used for fence posts and rural fencing, particularly in parts of southeastern Australia. The plant’s habit as a thorny shrub/small tree makes it suited to low-dimension posts, commonly employed by graziers. It is also burned as fuelwood in regional settings. There is no evidence of commercial extraction of bast fiber or preparation for pulp/paper from this species.

Properties relevant to use:
The plant’s thorny, multi-branched architecture yields robust, small-dimension stems suitable for posts, and the dense, dry wood supports combustion. Published uses describe the species as a structural component in fence construction rather than as a source of value-added timber products.

Sustainability and sourcing:
Acacia paradoxa occurs widely across New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia and is listed as an environmental weed in some jurisdictions. Sustainable harvesting practices and local regulations should be observed when cutting posts from wild plants.
