It is found in grasslands, scrub, and rocky areas at elevations of 1,500–3,500 m (4,900–11,500 ft).

Erigeron breviscapus is a species of flowering plants native to China. It is a perennial herb that can reach up to 50 cm in height, though in some cases it is less than 1 cm tall. Its flower heads have blue, purple, or white ray florets surrounding yellow disc florets. It is found in grasslands, scrub, and rocky areas at elevations of 1,500–3,500 m. It is found in the provinces of Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan, Tibet, and Yunnan.
