Dendrobium plicatile is an orchid species native to Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, and Malesia. It was previously known as Flickingeria fimbriata. This plant can be found in various countries including Borneo, Cambodia, China, India, Java, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The methanol extract of D. plicatile has been found to have antioxidant properties, while extracts from a related species, Dendrobium officinale, have been shown to protect against liver damage caused by alcohol. The plant also contains various compounds such as phenanthrenes, norditerpenoids, and steroids.
