Allium macleanii is a type of wild onion that is native to Asia and can be found at high elevations in countries such as Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Tajikistan, and northern India. This perennial herb can grow up to 100 cm tall and has a spherical umbel, or flower cluster, that can reach up to 7 cm in diameter. The umbel is filled with numerous purple flowers, making it a visually striking plant.
