Adiantum capillus-veneris, also known as the Southern maidenhair fern, is a popular species of fern found worldwide. It is commonly grown as a garden plant and houseplant. It is native to the southern half of the United States, as well as other regions such as Eurasia and Australasia. This fern can be found in a variety of habitats, including rainforests, woodlands, and desert cliff seeps. It is known for its delicate, light green fronds that grow from creeping rhizomes. Adiantum capillus-veneris is widely cultivated and used in traditional medicine by various cultures. It is also listed as an endangered or threatened species in some regions due to habitat loss.
