The principal commercial product is heartwood timber. Large volumes are processed into sawn lumber and veneer. Small-diameter logs, residues, and thinning products are used for chips destined to particleboard, fiberboard, and pulp and paper production. Bark is processed into tanning extracts.

Teak is used in high-exposure structures and components where durability, stability, and weathering resistance are required.
