native to North America, Ribes viscosissimum, also known as sticky currant, is a eudicot plant in the currant family. It is found in the Pacific Northwest, Columbia Plateau, Great Plains, Great Basin, and southwest regions of western North America. This plant grows up to 2 meters in height and has leaves with three lobes and toothed tips. Its flowers are bell-shaped and white to greenish yellow, and its fruits are blue-black berries that are not edible. R. viscosissimum is commonly found in moist to wet areas, such as mountain forests and streambanks. It is pollinated by various species of bumblebees and is not considered an allergen. This species is widespread and abundant, but not vulnerable, and can tolerate some natural or human disturbance. It is commonly found in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington in the United States.
