The petiole is up to 5 cm long. The flowers are yellow-green, in racemes up to 10 cm long. The fruit is a samara, with a wing up to 2.5 cm long.
Acer caudatifolium is a species of maple native to Taiwan, reaching up to 20 metres tall. Its leaves are non-compound, narrowly ovate, up to 11 cm long and 4.5 cm wide, with serrate margins but no lobes. The petiole is up to 5 cm long. The flowers are yellow-green, in racemes up to 10 cm long. The fruit is a samara, with a wing up to 2.5 cm long. It is sometimes confused with another Taiwanese tree, Acer morrisonense.
