Acer barbinerve, also known as bearded maple, is a type of maple tree found in parts of Asia such as Korea, eastern Russia, and northeastern China. It can grow as a shrub or a multi-stemmed tree up to 7 meters tall and has smooth gray bark. The leaves are non-compound, with 5 shallow lobes and toothed edges, and can reach up to 10 cm in length. This species is dioecious, meaning there are separate male and female plants.
