Food and beverages (non-medicinal):
The mature fruit of Malus doumeri is edible and typically consumed cooked due to its sour, sometimes astringent, taste. In Taiwan it is occasionally processed into jams, jellies, and fruit beverages; wild-harvested fruit is also used for these products. It is not a major commercial crop.
