Uncaria tomentosa, commonly known as cat’s‑claw, is a woody vine whose bark, leaves, and roots are used by several Amazonian and Andean peoples. Among the Yanomami of the Venezuelan and Brazilian Amazon, the bark is boiled into a decoction to treat fevers, colds, and inflammatory conditions, while the leaves are steeped as a mild tea for digestive upset (Smith et al., 2015).
