Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco, also known as Quebracho blanco, is a tree species native to South America. It can be found in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. This tree should not be confused with other species called quebracho. It is an evergreen tree that can reach up to 30 meters in height and has sclerophyllous foliage. It is commonly found in dry deciduous forests and is used for its timber, which is heavy and hard. The wood is used for various purposes such as carpentry, furniture, and charcoal. The bark of A. quebracho-blanco contains chemicals such as quebrachitol and quebrachine, which have medicinal properties. There is also a cultivar of this tree called 'Pendula' with weeping branches.
