Castanopsis eyrei is a type of flowering plant that belongs to the Fagaceae family and is commonly found in southern China and Taiwan. This evergreen tree can grow up to 8 to 20 meters tall and is often found in mature forests at elevations ranging from 300 to 1,700 meters above sea level. It is known to be a dominant species in these forests and is also used as a street tree in various cities in southern China.
