Saraca asoca, also known as the Ashoka tree, is a plant in the legume family that is culturally significant in the Indian subcontinent. It is often confused with Saraca indica and is known for its beautiful foliage and fragrant flowers. The tree is considered sacred and is associated with various myths and traditions, particularly in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is also used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat female disorders. The ashoka tree is becoming rarer in its natural habitat, but is still found in scattered locations in India and Sri Lanka.
