Pterodon emarginatus, also known as sucupira-branca in Portuguese, is a legume native to the Cerrado region of Brazil. It is commonly found in the western parts of Minas Gerais and Goiás. The oil extracted from the fruit of this plant is known to have properties that can prevent the penetration of Schistosome cercariae, a type of parasite that can cause skin infections.
