Haloxylon persicum, also known as the white saxaul, is a small tree belonging to the Amaranthaceae family. It is native to Western Asia, including countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and China. The tree has a stout stem and light grey bark, and can grow up to 5 metres in height. It is commonly found in sandy areas and is known for its ability to grow in poor soil and withstand drought. The tree has various uses, including stabilizing soil, providing durable wood for carpentry, and serving as a source of fuel. However, it is also susceptible to pests such as the saxaul longhorn beetle.
