Amentotaxus formosana, also known as the Taiwan catkin yew, is a small conifer tree found only in Taiwan. It grows up to 10 meters tall and has a slender trunk. It was previously thought to be a variant of Amentotaxus argotaenia. A. formosana is only found in four locations in the Hengchun Peninsula and is considered critically endangered by the IUCN due to its small populations and habitat loss. The species has very low levels of genetic diversity. Its wood is used for furniture and crafts, and it is sometimes grown as an ornamental tree.
