Ficus virens, also known as the white fig, is a plant found in Pakistan, India, southeast Asia, and northern Australia. It is a medium-sized tree that can grow up to 32 meters tall and is known for its edible fruits. This tree is a strangler fig, meaning its seeds can germinate on other trees and eventually kill them. It has two distinct growth periods in its native environment and its new leaves are a beautiful shade of reddish pink. In Thai cuisine, the leaves of this tree are used as a vegetable in curries. Some famous examples of this tree include the Curtain Fig Tree in Australia and the Tree of Knowledge in Darwin.
