Triumfetta rhomboidea, also known as diamond burbark or Chinese bur, is a shrub that is commonly found in tropical regions. It is believed to have originated from China and has been naturalized in many parts of the world, including Australia. The bark of this plant, also known as burbark, is used to make a type of jute. It was first described by botanist Nikolaus von Jacquin in 1760. The plant has 8-15 stamens and produces round to slightly ovoid fruits with smooth spines. Its stems are covered in star-shaped hairs. The embryology of this plant was studied and described by Venkata Rao in 1952.
