Hypericum canariense, also known as Canary Islands St. John's wort, is a flowering plant in the Hypericaceae family. It is the only member of the Hypericum sect. Webbia. Its specific epithet, canariense, refers to its abundance in the Canary Islands. It is also found in Madeira and has been introduced to other parts of the world, such as Australia, New Zealand, and some US states. It grows in a variety of habitats, including dry scrub and mesic forests. This species is a shrub that can reach up to 3 meters in height and has waxy leaves and bright yellow flowers. It can reproduce through seeds and rhizomes. It is often mistaken for other species due to its similar flower structure. There are three accepted varieties of Hypericum canariense.
