Leaves and branches are steam‑distilled to yield an essential oil used in fragrance compositions; it is also a minor flavoring agent in food applications. Commercially, L. glaucescens oil is employed for its characteristic herbaceous–spicy scent profile typical of several Lauraceae leaf oils, typically integrated at trace-to-low levels in perfumes and flavor blends to add freshness and lift.
