- Essential oil (steam-distilled from aerial parts) as a food and beverage flavoring; used as an herb and spice seasoning in traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, especially in meat dishes such as lamb.

Food and beverages (non-medicinal):
- Fresh or dried herb employed as a culinary herb and spice in sauces and condiments; also incorporated into spice blends for marinating and roasting meat.
- Single-floral honey is reported from the plant’s nectar in Israel; classification as a monofloral honey depends on the regional foraging spectrum and is subject to pollen thresholds applied by local honey standards.

Properties relevant to use:
- The essential oil’s composition—p-cymene, thymol, and gamma-terpinene reported in 45–60% range—confers a characteristic thyme aroma suitable for flavor systems and food applications.
