Phlomis fruticosa, also known as Jerusalem sage, is a flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to several countries in Europe and is a small evergreen shrub that can reach up to 1 meter in height and 1.5 meters in width. Its leaves are oval, grey-green with white undersides, and have a sage-like aroma. The plant produces deep yellow flowers in the summer, arranged in whorls of 20 on short spikes. Its name, fruticosa, means "shrubby". This plant is popular as an ornamental and has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It has also naturalized in parts of South West England. It is known to be deer resistant and can thrive in a variety of soil types. It is also hardy in zones 7 to 11.
