Polygonum tenue is a species of plant in the buckwheat family that is native to south-central Canada and the eastern and central United States. It is a herb that can grow up to 50 cm tall, with green or brown stems and narrow leaves up to 4 cm long. The flowers are pink or white. It is widespread across its range, though it is apparently now extirpated from Maine and New Hampshire.
