Hirschfeldia incana, also known as shortpod mustard, is a flowering plant in the mustard family. It is the only species in the Hirschfeldia genus and is closely related to Brassica. Native to the Mediterranean Basin, it has been introduced to many parts of the world and is considered a noxious weed. Its appearance is similar to black mustard, but it is generally shorter and has soft white hairs on its stem and foliage. Unlike black mustard, it is a perennial plant and forms a wide basal rosette of lobed leaves. Its leaves are edible and have been traditionally used as a leaf vegetable in some areas.
