Heliotropium curassavicum, also known as salt heliotrope, is a flowering plant found in many parts of the Americas, including Canada, Argentina, and the West Indies. It can also be found in other regions as an introduced species. This herb thrives in salty soils and is often found in disturbed coastal areas. It has a variety of common names in different languages and has five recognized varieties. The plant has fleshy stems and leaves, with small bell-shaped flowers that can be white with purple or yellow throats. The fruit is a smooth nutlet. The different varieties have varying flower sizes and colors.
