Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides, also known as lawn marshpennywort, is a small dicot plant native to southeastern Asia. It is traditionally classified in the Apiaceae family, but recent studies suggest it may belong in the Araliaceae family. It is a fast-growing plant that produces small yellow and purple flowers. It can be found in a variety of habitats and is commonly used for medicinal purposes in Asia. It has also been introduced in the United States and other parts of the world, where it is often used in aquariums. The plant is able to tolerate a wide range of temperatures and has a preference for full sunlight. It is not considered a conservation concern and has been found to contain various phytoconstituents with potential therapeutic benefits. It has been used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments and has been found to be non-toxic in preclinical studies.
