Solanum physalifolium, also known as hoe nightshade, is a species of plant in the nightshade family. It is native to Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile, but has become naturalized in many other regions, including Australia, New Zealand, and parts of North America and Europe. It is often mistaken for another species, Solanum sarrachoides, and has been listed as a noxious weed in some US states under this incorrect name. This annual plant grows up to 90 cm tall and has ovoid to deltoid leaves with variable margins. Its flowers are small and white to pale blue, and its fruit is a yellowish berry.
