Sempervivum arachnoideum, also known as the cobweb house-leek, is a flowering plant found in European mountains such as the Alps, Apennines, and Carpathians. It is a small succulent perennial that forms rosettes and is highly valued for its ability to thrive in hot and dry environments through its offsets. The plant gets its name from its central rosettes that have long ciliate leaf margins, resembling spider webs. It blooms in July with pink flowers on raised stems and is hermaphroditic. Both the plant and its subspecies, Sempervivum arachnoideum subsp. tomentosum, have been recognized with the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
