General Uses Top
Suggest a correction!Wood and fiber:
Canarium muelleri is used as a light to medium hardwood in light construction, interior joinery, furniture components, and veneer/plywood; it is also suitable for pulp and paper. Typical wood density is about 600–720 kg/m³ at 12% moisture content (Regional Wood Density Atlas, CABI). The fiber dimensions and moderate lignin/cellulose ratio support kraft and soda–anthraquione pulping, producing bleachable pulps used in printing and writing papers. Relevant technical standards include ISO 4472 (furnish for laboratory test sheets), ISO 5350 (handsheets), ISO 1762 and TAPPI T 205 (ash and Kappa number), and ASTM D1106 and D7782 (lignin and kappa), which define industry measurements for such hardwoods.
