Prunus spinosissima, also known as the thorny almond or bodomcha in Uzbek, is a wild almond species found in Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Iran. It typically grows at elevations between 400-1500m in dry areas. This shrub can reach a height of 2m and has brownish-red bark that turns grey as it ages. Its flowers are pink in color. This species is similar in appearance to other wild almond species such as Prunus erioclada, P. lycioides, P. eburnea, and P. brahuica.
