Prunus lycioides, also known as Persian almond, is a thorny shrub native to Turkey, northern Syria, and Iran. It grows to be 0.6 to 1.2 meters tall and has gray bark and pink flowers. It is similar in appearance to other species of Prunus, but can be distinguished by its longer, narrower leaves and subtle differences in its endocarp. This plant is well-adapted to dry conditions and can be found in a variety of arid and semi-arid habitats at elevations ranging from 450 to 2200 meters above sea level.
