Prunus gentryi is a type of wild cherry tree found in the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Sonora. It is part of the Rosaceae family and typically grows along streambanks in mountainous areas of the Sierra Madre Occidental. The tree can reach heights of up to 12 meters and has thick, dark green leaves. Its fruits are edible and come in both purple and yellow varieties. The tree and its fruits are highly valued by the Mountain Pima people, who call it "aguasiqui" and consider it a prized food source, ripening in late summer. This species was first described in 1937.
