Prunus × dasycarpa, also known as purple apricot or black apricot, is a tree species in the rose family. It was named by Jakob Friedrich Ehrhart in 1791 and has reddish-orange buds and white flowers. It is believed to be a hybrid of apricot and cherry plum, but there is debate over whether it was cultivated by humans or occurred naturally in Western Asia.
