Crataegus succulenta
Crataegus succulenta, also known as fleshy hawthorn, succulent hawthorn, and round-fruited cockspurthorn, is a widely-distributed species of hawthorn native to southern Canada and the United States. It has many variant forms that have been given different species names, but are considered synonyms. It is believed to be the parent of the tetraploid species Crataegus persimilis, along with Crataegus crus-galli. The fruit of this species is edible and can be used to make jelly or tea.
