Common products:
Plants are sold as ornamentals for hedging and living fencing; plants and scions are used as rootstock for Pistacia vera (pistachio) cultivation.

Industrial and craft applications:
Dried stems are used as fuel and for basic craftwork (e.g., walking sticks); plantation-grown wood is employed for small turning items and tool handles. The thorny, dense growth makes it suitable for living fences, windbreaks, and erosion control on degraded sites.

Wood and fiber:
The heartwood is dense and hard; it is air-dried and worked for small objects and handles. Stems yield basic craft materials.

Sustainability and sourcing:
In parts of its native range (Mediterranean and W. Asia) the species is common in semi-arid shrublands and can be used in restoration plantings; local policies generally manage wild collection and cultivation.
