Saruma is a unique genus of flowering plants in the Aristolochiaceae family, consisting of only one species, Saruma henryi. This plant is found exclusively in China, specifically in the provinces of Gansu, Guizhou, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, and Sichuan. It is a perennial herb that grows from rhizomes and can reach up to one meter in height. Its leaves are heart-shaped and can grow up to 15 by 13 centimeters. The plant produces yellowish or yellow-green flowers and its fruit is a follicle.
