Oenothera deltoides, also known as birdcage evening primrose, is a plant native to the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It grows in sandy habitats and has grayish leaves and large white flowers that turn pink as they mature. When the plant dies, the stems curl up to form a "birdcage" shape, giving it its common name. There are five subspecies, including one that is federally listed as an endangered species. This plant is very similar to Oenothera caespitosa, but lacks stems and has slightly larger flowers.
