Syncarpia glomulifera, also known as the turpentine tree or yanderra, is a large tree native to New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. It can reach heights of up to 60 meters and is commonly found in transitional forests between rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest. The tree has thick brown bark and thick, ovate leaves that grow in pairs. It produces cream-colored flowers in spring and has compound fruit that ripens in summer. The turpentine tree is an important species in the critically endangered Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest ecological community. It is also highly valued for its durable timber, which is used for flooring, poles, and wharves. The tree is adaptable to a wide range of soils and is often used in large gardens and parks for its dense canopy and shade.
