Common products:
Fruits of Garcinia lateriflora are recorded as edible and occasionally marketed locally in parts of its native range. Ripe fruits are consumed fresh; the fruit pulp is used to prepare jams and jellies. Seeds are oily and yield a non-drying oil used in cooking in some communities, and the residual oilcake is fed to livestock.

Food and beverages (non-medicinal):
Ripe fruit is eaten as a dessert fruit. Fruit pulp is processed into jams and preserves; these preparations are noted in local agricultural and ethnobotanical literature without health claims.

Properties relevant to use:
Seeds contain approximately 20–30% oil, a predominantly unsaturated composition similar to other Garcinia seed oils, which facilitates edible use. Residual oilcake is used as a feed for ruminants.

Sustainability and sourcing:
The species occurs in lowland and hill forests of Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, and Borneo. Sustainable harvesting of fruits is emphasized by conservation assessments, which list the species as data deficient but note threats from forest loss and overharvest. No specific standards for food or feed are reported for this taxon.
