Common products:
Lantana involucrata is sold as a whole‑plant ornamental shrub in the horticultural trade, both as potted plants and as rooted cuttings for garden landscaping.

Industrial and craft applications:
The species is employed in coastal erosion control and dune restoration projects. Its fibrous root system stabilises sandy soils, and its high salt tolerance makes it suitable for vegetation on storm‑prone shorelines. The live plant is used as a bio‑engineered component in habitat‑restoration programmes.

Properties relevant to use:
L. involucrata tolerates soil NaCl concentrations up to approximately 300 mM, a level that enables its establishment on saline coastal sites. It possesses a dense, evergreen canopy that provides year‑round ground cover, and drought resistance supported by xerophytic leaf morphology and efficient water‑use efficiency. The plant’s low stature (0.5–2 m) and moderate growth rate make it easy to maintain in cultivated settings.

Sustainability and sourcing:
Native to the southeastern United States, the Caribbean, and northern South America, L. involucrata is cultivated by native‑plant nurseries without harvesting from wild populations. It is not listed as invasive in its native range, and commercial propagation relies on cultivated stock, thereby minimising impact on natural populations and supporting local economies.
