General Uses Top

Buddleja crispa is cultivated as an ornamental shrub for gardens and public landscapes (RHS; Hillier & Coombes 2012; Blamey, Grey-Wilson & Nation 1986).

Scientific and model use:
Seeds are maintained in ex situ conservation collections such as the UK National Tree Seed Project (Forestry Commission, UK), providing a genetic resource for future horticultural breeding and reintroduction (Forestry Commission 2023).

Properties relevant to use:
Silvery-grey tomentose foliage and fragrant pale lilac–pink inflorescences make it effective as an evergreen to semi-evergreen hedge or specimen shrub in temperate gardens; plants are noted as drought-tolerant and suitable for sunny, well-drained sites, contributing to low-input landscape use (RHS; Hillier & Coombes 2012).
