Psydrax dicoccos, also known as Ceylon box wood or malakafe, is a smooth shrub that can grow up to 4 meters tall. It is a member of the Rubiaceae family and is found in southeast China and tropical Asia. The leaves of this plant are variable in shape, ranging from ovate to elliptic or rounded, and are 5 to 15 centimeters long. The flowers are white and have slender stalks, and the fruit is rounded or ellipsoid in shape. This plant is commonly used for its medicinal properties and is also used in traditional medicine in some cultures.
