Gentianella anglica, also known as the early gentian, is a flowering plant native to Great Britain. It is an annual species with lanceolate leaves and purplish flowers that bloom from May to June. Its distribution is mainly in Dorset, Wiltshire, and the Isle of Wight, but it has also been found in other locations such as Yorkshire and West Wales. This plant prefers moderately grazed pasture and is in decline due to changes in its habitat. Its conservation status is uncertain due to taxonomic uncertainties.
