It can also be propagated from cuttings taken in autumn or spring.

Podalyria calyptrata, also known as keurtjie or water blossom pea, is a resilient and fast-growing tree belonging to the Fabaceae family. It is native to the Western Cape region of South Africa and is characterized by its velvety silver leaves and bright-pink, sweetly scented flowers. This tree can reach a height of 4 meters and is commonly found in fynbos and forest verges. It is easy to grow and can tolerate wind, frost, and drought, but thrives best with regular watering. P. calyptrata can be used as a hedge or screen, or as a specimen plant with its attractive foliage and fragrant flowers. It can be propagated from seeds or cuttings and is a popular choice for gardens in its native region.
