Erythrina poeppigiana, also known as the mountain immortelle, is a flowering plant found in northern and western South America. It has been introduced to various regions in Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, India, and tropical Asia. This plant is known for its vibrant orange flowers and is often used as a decorative street tree. It is the state tree of Mérida, Venezuela and is widely cultivated for its ability to fix nitrogen and provide fodder.
