Amaranthus grandiflorus is a type of annual plant that can grow up to 40 centimeters tall. It has ovate to lanceolate leaves and clusters of flowers that are 5-7 millimeters long. This species is found in various parts of Australia, including the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. It typically thrives in dry regions with red sand. The plant was first identified in 1923 by John McConnell Black and was initially classified as a variety of Amaranthus mitchellii.
